Within a short time frame of less than 5 years, Fashion for Good has established itself as the go-to platform for sustainable fashion innovation on a global level. As we are entering our next phase of growth, we seek a Director who, together with their team, will be responsible for driving the strategy and scaling of innovation across the fashion supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Managing Director, and a core member of the leadership team, the role has several components;

Driving key innovations to scale

  • Leading the strategy and roadmaps to scale for a portfolio of over 150 Fashion for Good innovations via collaborative deals, projects and structures with brands and related stakeholders. These roadmaps outline the areas for support by Fashion for Good, such as unlocking access to capital, providing relevant expertise and linking to market(s) through partnerships with Fashion for Good’s brand, retailing and manufacturing partners. This role, together with the reporting team orchestrates all of the actions needed to implement the roadmap
  • Where relevant, act as spokesperson at conferences and speak to press as a key leader of Fashion for Good. Build Fashion for Good’s presence as a thought leader in the area of sustainable innovation through appearing at and speaking at events and contributing to publications both internally and externally. Drive emerging thought leadership opportunities where relevant

Corporate development and key stakeholder relationship management

  • Building and maintaining senior executive relationships with over 24 key Fashion for Good corporate partners (brands, retailers and manufacturers) as well as relevant ecosystem partners and experts. In addition, establish and manage relationships with key technology and research institutions around the world (e.g. academia, multi-stakeholder organisations, governments, incubators) to support innovation scaling
  • Leveraging existing partnerships to develop new offerings and strategic initiatives that drive future company revenue and growth and attract further partnerships

Team leadership and development

  • Leading and developing a team, including hiring and performance management
  • Manage the relevant budgets associated with the team and strategic initiatives

Strategy and planning for the Innovation Platform as well as Fashion for Good as a whole

  • Developing and executing the long term strategic vision for the Innovation Platform as a whole. Related to this, demonstration and tracking of KPIs; advancing key impact and progress visualisations (e.g. funnel, metrics dashboard)
  • Developing strategic materials for the Fashion for Good Board and related committees
  • Support the Managing Director with cross functional topics across the organisation

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a relevant track record and combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, proactive attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA or equivalent) are a plus.
  • Proven track record of at least 12-15 years having spent time in management consulting or a function that involves strategic planning, business development, and/or corporate development. Having worked in a start-up, sustainability company or the apparel and footwear industry is preferred
  • Structured, strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent the organisation effectively to external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to inspire and develop team members
  • Capacity to adapt to different and complex work environments, easily navigating change as well as different cultures and organisational settings
  • An ability to think strategically and then proactively execute and mobilise large organisations to achieve the goals set out on
  • A true passion to make a difference and enact change

Languages

Proficiency in English is a requirement.
