Fashion for Good is a platform for sustainable fashion innovation. Our mission is to bring together the entire fashion ecosystem to rethink how fashion is designed, made, worn and reused.

Launched in March 2017, Fashion for Good is a global organisation that aims to reimagine how fashion is designed, made, worn and reused. This open and inclusive initiative brings together brands, retailers, suppliers, non-profit organisations, innovators, funders and individuals united in their shared ambition to make all fashion good.

Fashion for Good is changing the apparel industry through innovation and collaboration. Through our innovation platform, we scout the most promising innovators from across the globe, supporting the development of their solutions, helping them get the funding they need to grow and connecting them with our corporate partners in pilot projects to help scale those proven technologies and business models for wider adoption by the industry.

Our Good Fashion Fund catalyses access to finance and our open-source Good Fashion Guide shares knowledge to help the apparel industry transform.

As a convenor for change, we enable conversation and encourage collaboration, bringing together like-minded organisations together in our co-working space in our headquarters in Amsterdam, as well as visitors to the Fashion for Good Museum to learn more about Good Fashion.

Fashion for Good’s programmes are supported by founding partner Laudes Foundation, co-founder William McDonough and corporate partners adidas, C&A, CHANEL, BESTSELLER, Galeries Lafayette Group, Kering, Levi Strauss & Co., Otto Group, PVH Corp., Stella McCartney, Target, and Zalando, and regional and affiliate partners Arvind Limited, Birla Cellulose, HSBC, Norrøna, vivobarefoot, Welspun and W. L. Gore & Associates.

At the core of Fashion for Good is our Innovation Platform – where we connect those working on sustainable innovation with brands, retailers and funders to bring new ideas and technologies from niche to norm.

These innovations challenge us to rethink every step of how a product is made.

Materials made from fruit waste. Business models designed for renting and reselling. Technologies that “close the loop” so that old clothes can be turned into new ones. Because doing good is not simply doing less bad; it is about creating technologies and systems that actively benefit us all. These innovations and many more are promising because they fundamentally change the way we do business, creating an opportunity for a regenerative closed loop system that eliminates waste.

The world’s first museum for sustainable fashion.

This is an interactive space where you can learn how our clothes are made and discover game changing innovations shaping the future of fashion.

Throughout the building, you can discover the stories behind your clothes, take a closer look at your buyer behaviour, find concrete ways to have a positive impact and commit to taking action on your Good Fashion journey, and shop sustainable products (that is, when you need to shop at all) in our Good Shop. Journey through the past, present and future of fashion, exploring the game-changing innovations that are shaping the sustainable future of fashion and seeing these new technologies up close and personal.

We offer guided tours both in person and virtually so everyone from across the world can discover sustainable fashion and learn how they can make a change. You’ll be personally guided through all of our latest exhibitions by one of our expert hosts, with plenty of room for questions along the way.

You’ll learn about the current state of the fashion industry, and discover new steps to take toward your sustainable fashion journey and learn all about new innovations that are set to disrupt the industry for the better.

Tours currently run multiple times per week — check availability and book your ticket here!

Every year, the Fashion for Good museum explores a specific theme related to sustainable fashion, where we dive into the innovations and pioneering brands that are changing the future of fashion!

Open until April/May 2022, our new exhibition focuses on the world of innovative biomaterials in fashion and their essential role in driving the industry towards circularity.

But what exactly are biomaterials? How can they be used? How sustainable are they and what makes them different from traditional fibres?

Over the coming months, we’ll explore the answers to these questions and much more with immersive and interactive exhibits, curated and developed in-house. Taking you on a journey through the latest innovations and the stories behind them, we’ll showcase the designers and brands using biomaterials, and what it means for the future of fashion.

We regularly host events and workshops in our museum to share the latest learnings in sustainable fashion innovation, exploring different actions we can all take to have a positive impact and introducing the public to the next generation of innovations that are shaping the future of fashion.

Visit our calendar to see what events we have coming up!

In our headquarters, Fashion for Good houses a Circular Apparel Community co-working space, for like-minded organisations such as the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Organic Cotton Accelerator, ZDHC and more.

We regularly host community activities such as group breakfasts, games, workshops, film screenings and get togethers (all in-line with COVID-19 regulations of course).

NO SINGLE ORGANISATION can transform an industry on its own.

That’s why Fashion for Good is building a global community, bringing together brands, retailers, suppliers, non-profit organisations, innovators, funders and individuals united in their shared ambition to make all fashion good.
