Innovation Analyst (Validation)

At Fashion for Good we're looking for a Innovation Analyst to join our team.

About the job

Fashion for Good is seeking an Analyst to join the Validation team at Fashion for Good. The Validation team is responsible for the Innovation Pipeline including the Alumni Network as well as various multi stakeholder projects. Our work covers the whole supply chain from materials, processing, recycling, traceability, circular business models and legislation.

The analyst will work closely with the Innovation Manager and cross functionally across the team.

Key responsibilities of the Analyst include the following:

Alumni Network & Innovator Support

  • Curate bespoke support with FFG innovation leads for selected innovators (ie: screening LCA, investments, business development, projects)

  • Build strong relationship with FFG mentor network and connect them with relevant innovators

  • Keep in touch with key alumni innovators to better understand their partnerships, capacity, technical and commercial progress. 

  • Coordinate with relevant team members to update any internal information on our alumni (1-pagers, Technical Readiness Level etc).

  • Ideate and execute Alumni workshops and faciliate meaningful discussions between innovators where relevant

Communications & Data Analysis

  • Prepare and send out our quarterly newsletter

  • Work closely with our Communications team to prioritise and ideate innovator news and key insights for promotion on our social media.

  • Be primary point of contact with no. of conferences / expos / prizes (eg; Earthshot Prize, Global Change Award) orchestrating alumni participation with these initiatives

  • Update and analyse partnership data (between our innovators and Partners) and innovator commercial data (investment raised, revenue, business model).

  • Assist leadership team with data presentation and graphic creation for key Partner and Board meetings.

Project Management and Intelligence

  • Responsible for topic areas including Circular Business Models and associated intelligence and knowledge related to these topics (ie: latest developments, key strategic levers, innovators etc.)

  • Where relevant, work with the Innovation Manager to execute collaborative pilots and projects in these areas

  • Be a part of the project team for the Fashion for Good 'Rewear Project" . Responsible for ongoing project management and operations associated with the project

  • Write reports describing findings and recommendations for follow up action

  • The Innovation Analyst plays a bridging function between innovators, FFG’s partners (brands, retailers and manufacturers), investors/financiers, and NGOs.

  • Continue to build Fashion for Good’s presence as a thought leader in the area of sustainable innovation in given areas amongst other more through publication contributions.

  • Assist in general Innovation Platform activities (including operations and day to day business activities)

  • Note, Fashion for Good is a dynamic and agile organisation and there may be additional topic areas that become a part of this role

About you

The ideal candidate combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, proactive attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Knowledge within the fashion / textile / footwear industry a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and execute projects

  • Multi stakeholder engagement and relationship management

  • Ability to act in a networking role towards stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail

  • Strong g suite (powerpoint) skills

  • Capacity to adapt to different settings and to work in a demanding and multicultural environment

  • Self-starter with strong organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Creative thinker with the ability for sound judgement and accountability

  • A pro-active, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and comfortable dealing with uncertainty

  • 1-3 years experince, with experience in the following areas a plus: research and development, consulting, sustainability, the apparel industry or a relevant entrepreneurial / start-up setting.

EDUCATION

Academic degree in sustainability, innovation, business management, textile engineering a plus
